LISTEN AND READ

In order to see what the weather is like, we look around us. We can see if t is sunny, of it is raining.

We can also use a weather map. A weather map tells us if it is warm or cold, if it is raining or windy.

When we describe the weather we use words like: hot, cold, sunny, raining, dry, windy or cloudy.

When we talk about weather, we must take into account three elements: temperature, rainfall and wind.

  • Temperature: It is a measurement of how hot or cold a place is. Temperature is measured in degrees Celsius or degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Rainfall: It is the amount of rain that falls in a particular area during a particular period of time.
  • Wind: It is a natural current of air that moves fast enough for you to fell it. It can be breeze (light wind), gale (a very strong wind) or hurricane (a violent storm with extremely strong winds and heavy rain).
